Hey there,
I hope you’ve had a nice day today?
Here’s a little poem to challenge you a little? 😉
So many people want closure
So many people try to find ways to have closure.
In it they go back to what hurt them
To hear the things they always wanted to hear to try and go back to an imaginary story of how they wanted things to be.
Closure as an act is an illusion.
That last text, call, meeting, e-mail or tweet isn’t going to help you get closer to feeling better about yourself. It isn’t going to magically help you forget the love and the care you had for that person.
It took me a while to realize
that true closure is knowing that it’s okay to not get along with everyone
It’s okay to let go and forget
You’re supposed to be walking into your purpose
You’re supposed to be becoming the person you always wanted to be
Working towards the dreams you had
One day you said…
When I grow up you said
Well that one day is today
seize it.
True closure is detaching yourself from the past
detaching yourself from the words your parents said that hurt you.
detaching yourself from the one you used to “love”
detaching yourself from the one you thought you “cared” about
detaching yourself from that one bully
detaching yourself from the negative things people would tell you.
and attaching yourself to the greatness of your future.
true closure is rediscovering who you are
rediscovering what you like,
rediscovering what you want to do
and doing the things that make you happy.
True closure is finding your true self and being proud of who you are.
