Hey you!
In this post we’ll be adressing the importance of savouring joyful moments.
In this post I’ll be addressing the importance of little joyful moments in life. 2023 is the year of becoming. Becoming the person you are called to be. Loving the process that you’re going through whether good or bad, this year let’s find joy in it all! I have a little quote for this season:
The beauty of discovering new dimensions in life. There are so many avenues and things you won’t know or realize the feeling of until you try..
Trying new things is indeed scary, but the pounding of your heart caused by the fear will be multiplied when the joy of the overcoming is there.
Doing the simple things that are slightly out of your comfort zone, ads fire to the everlasting flame that burns inside of you. Remember everything is vanity, but don’t forget to enjoy the things that feed the soul while you can. So that on the last day, you can look back with no regrets.
There are so many things that you can do to enjoy the little moments in life! The best thing is you can choose how to document it! You can either take pictures or videos of the fun things that you do or you can keep random keepsakes that’ll remind you of the event like a movie ticket or write in a dairy daily. One thing that I have noticed is that when you document the fun parts of life, you’ll be able to relive the lovely memories through the documentation.
Whether you feel like documenting it or not, one day you’ll look back with joy and love for that same season whether good or bad.
Which little joyful moments should you document?
If you’re wondering which moments you can document on a daily basis, here are some ideas of random moments that’ll bring you joy a year later:
- The time you wake up
- 3 things you’re grateful for that day
- The weather and how it made you feel
- A moment of fun with friends
- A moment that brings you energy during the day
- Something that made you smile
- Something that drained your energy
- Lesson of the day
- The time you go to bed
- Which book you are currently reading
- Which podcast you’re currently listening + which episode
- Movie ticket/ pic of you at the (home) cinema
These are super random little joyful moments that when documented, one day you’ll look back and you’ll find joy in knowing how far you’ve come. This method is called savoring.
These little joyful moments are step one of learning to embrace the process of life! It’s the first step towards a sustainable and joyful life.
As you’re going through life, you’ll have to shift your mindset from being goal-focused to being process-focused. The more you fall in love with the process of going there, the more moments you’ll be able to savor in your day to day life.
