Hi there,
I hope you had a good week? This week, I’m continuing the story of my spontaneous trip to London.
Day 1
After finally being able to enter the country we started off dropping our things at the Airbnb before meeting one of our friends, Christian for lunch. We ended up going to the burger king and we each ordered a meal. One of the shocking things was that the portions were way smaller than the ones in Belgium, I ordered a medium menu, but got a menu that was smaller than a small in Belgium. That was a mood.
After that we ended up going to the Airbnb, I had a shower cleaned up and we went to the Kyoto Garden in the Holland park. It was a very small, but cute Japanese themed garden. There was a fountain, some benches and Koi fish.
We went around once, took some pictures and enjoyed the sight of squirls and the peacock that was walking around there. It was so peaceful and calm so it was a really nice way to jump into vacation mood. After that we decided to go and get takeout dinner from the Wasabi. I had some Onigiri with salmon and it was amazing. Alpha had rice with chicken and Christian had sushi and Dim Sum. They both also said that it was good.
After that I ended up staying in and calling it a night, in the attempt to catch up on some sleep.
Day 2
We woke up quite early, because we had planned our day out and had an early reservation we were going to the national history museum.
Before we went to the museum we gabbed some breakfast from my old Dutch, it was about 15 minutes from where we stayed and they had amazing pancakes there.
Then we headed to the national history museum. We spent a few hours walking around there and they had some really fun tests and games and videos explaining different topics.
Then we went to get groceries at a Sainsbury’s near our Airbnb. After that my sister called, because she just moved out of my parents house. We chatted as I prepared some stuff for dinner for when the others came back.
After the conversation with my sister, I decided to journal my thoughts and reflect on all that there was to do. It was such a peaceful moment for me. I asked myself why I was there. What it was doing for me, how I was viewing life, etc. I feel like I had more vision again. That lifted my mood a lot.
In the evening I worked on the blog and watched series before going to bed.
Day 3
After waking up late that morning, we rushed to the Sky garden where we had made a reservation the previous day. The views from the sky garden were amazing! They had a coffee bar and restaurant and a lovely balcony (which was sadly closed while we were there).
While looking at the beautiful views, I realized how much I love this city! One day it would be my dream to move there!
After the Sky Garden, we met up with a friend Alpha met on Omegle! We visited Camden town, Tower bridge, Lancaster square, Piccadilly circus and we got a private tour of his uni!
We had a lot of fun exploring London with someone who lives there. It really does give you a different view of all that is there. Did I also mention that he’s an amazing amateur photographer? 😉
Day 4
On the last day we packed up, visited Alpha’s family in the morning and were on our way back to Belgium!
