I hope you have been well? By now, we’ve all heard about Purple Heart, the trending new movie on Netflix. Most of you have probably seen it already, but for those of you who are wondering whether it’s worth watching or not and why, keep reading the review is definitely worth it.
Purple Hearts: Plot
This movie is about a musician who marries a marine, but not based on love, but due to circumstances. This happens the week before he gets deployed to Iraq, but thanks to the drama this fake marriage is forced to become a “real” one. Throughout the movie you discover whether the real marriage is even possible for those two, because they really are polar opposites or are they not?

The vibe
Okay, this is a section that I’ve never added in my reviews before, but I need to. The vibe throughout Purple Hearts is quite intense and heavy due to the subject of it all. You can really feel the heaviness when different topics of conversations are brought up and the reason why they’re even there.
Love is best when it grows steadily. When it’s not driven by emotions, but commitment it can help you endure more. Meaning that you will learn to fight better with your partner and learn to trust each other in ways that don’t make sense in the dating culture these days.
The movie truly shows how tough, yet worthwhile relationships can be. As long as you decide to both make it work, you can make it work.
Is it worth watching?
I did enjoy Purple Hearts quite a bit. This time I chose to focus on the intensity of every emotion and it was so nicely captured. I truly enjoyed the flow of the story. I didn’t pause it once. In my opinion, if you enjoy rom coms, this is a movie you’ll enjoy.
The fact that the relationship between Luke and Cassie started off as a marriage also gave me a change of perspective on another way relationships could work. Would I ever enter a relationship like that myself? I doubt it, but the beauty and power of growing in love rather than falling for someone is something that I have learnt to appreciate even more!

Conclusion
I’d give the movie Purple Hearts a 8/10. I truly enjoyed the classic romance in it, while appreciating the twists to the story.
